Flowers and Bugs!

By Laura

Hi there!
I know posts on this blog are too few, and you probably wish this weren't yet another of "Laura's flower posts"... But don't worry, this isn't ONLY a flower post! There are a few bugs in it as well! :-)

Oh, okay, sure there are some flowers... but aren't they brilliant?

See?!? I wouldn't lie, Bugs! And beautiful ones at that. ;-)

I don't know about you, but I love admiring God's creation!
He thought of everything from the galaxies to tiny little details like bugs.
Next post will be an update, I promise!

Tulips !!! (better late than never)

I had Philip take pictures of the beautiful tulips around Maubeuge this spring. I wanted to share them on the blog. And then I never did. So here they are. Some people drive all the way to Holland to see the tulips, but we think they are pretty nice right here by home. The towns and cities of France are rated by the quality of their public flowerbeds. We take flowers very seriously!

Spring flowers

By Laura

Yes people, more flowers!
I'm very sorry for those who do not enjoy flowers, but I think they are one of God's most beautiful creations! So here are some pictures I have taken of perennial flowers and "weeds".

Tulips

Muscari

Daisy

Ornamental red currant

Primrose

Miosotis

Strawberries
Wild strawberries

Forsythia

Bleeding hearts

(One of my personal favorites)

Chicken cactus

Blue bells

Aubrieta

Phlox

Now these next ones are considered "weeds" but try and say that after seeing these pictures.

buttercup weed

( I promise the next post will be a kapi update, not flowers.) ^^

Spring in the orchard

We love spring!!! Everything is coming to life spectacularly.

The pear tree has already blossomed.

But the apple trees are full of flowers!

The cherry trees too.

The concord grape vine has buds.

The chasselas grape vine is beautiful.

Pretty soon, the garden will be worthy of pictures as well.

Late Flowers

(I had really hoped to get back to blogging, but as you can easily see, I am not really succeeding. So as so many popular blogs do, I am inviting a new author to help me out! Laura has asked to write posts for me, and that sounded like a great idea to me! So here is her first post. Perfectly picked, as she is our flower lover. She has been planting flowers in the vegetable garden since she could walk. Her brothers think this is a BIG waste of spaded dirt.)

We still had FLOWERS in November! It didn't frost until mid December here.
So most of the flowers that we had planted for the wedding were still looking pretty.
So here are a few of my favorite pictures of our autumn and almost winter flowers.

 Marguerite

 Dahlias

I think this was a Dahlia that the soccer brothers knocked off its stem.

 Cosmos

Rose
Black-eyed Susans (that is what the French call them)

 Hypericum
The forsythia decided to flower again in the fall.

Sunflowers

The flower bed.

I hope you all enjoyed my very first post!
