Summer fun with cousins (and Grandpa!) 1

I never put any summer photos on the blog!! And we had such a great summer! Spending time in the USA made summer unforgettable! The kids got to know all their American cousins, finally.

First, but not last, ice cream of the trip

We got to eat out a lot.

Grandpa likes to buy us doughnuts.

Not sure who is bothering who.

Spending time with Judy's family.

Did I mention eating out?

Celebrating 30 years of marriage!!!

We have wanted to get away somewhere with dear friends of ours, but we never seemed to get organized enough to put our desires into action. Well, with some help and pushing from the kids (in both families), we finally were able to spend four days in Florence, Italy with Daniel and Pierrette to celebrate 30 years of marriage for both couples. We love Florence and were thrilled to act as tour guides, even if we don't speak Italian. The good thing about Italian, is that half of the language is hand gestures.

Here are a few pictures on no particular order to give an idea of the fun we had, and of the beauty of this place.

Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge)

We ate pizza… a few times… really good pizza.

Back to school as we tried to soak in as much art history as we could in four hours.

Ponte Vecchio again. (Just can't get enough of this bridge)

View from Duomo, the main cathedral of Florence and the largest brick dome in the world.

Being silly in Pisa before our flight home.

Spring flowers

By Laura

Yes people, more flowers!
I'm very sorry for those who do not enjoy flowers, but I think they are one of God's most beautiful creations! So here are some pictures I have taken of perennial flowers and "weeds".

Tulips

Muscari

Daisy

Ornamental red currant

Primrose

Miosotis

Strawberries
Wild strawberries

Forsythia

Bleeding hearts

(One of my personal favorites)

Chicken cactus

Blue bells

Aubrieta

Phlox

Now these next ones are considered "weeds" but try and say that after seeing these pictures.

( I promise the next post will be a kapi update, not flowers.) ^^

Spring in the orchard

We love spring!!! Everything is coming to life spectacularly.

The pear tree has already blossomed.

But the apple trees are full of flowers!

The cherry trees too.

The concord grape vine has buds.

The chasselas grape vine is beautiful.

Pretty soon, the garden will be worthy of pictures as well.
