Another Baptism!

by Laura

Hey there! It has been a long time, but as I promised, this post is not about flowers!
Actually the event I will be writing about is a very special one for me, for it's about my baptism the 25th of June 2017!
I got baptized right after I took the exams of my final year of high school!
It was an great day for me, my family and my church, full of emotion, laughter and much fellowship.
I thought I would share a few pictures with all of you!

My testimony

Baptism

Beautiful and precious prayer for me by Agnès, a great lady in our church.

 Singing

Receiving my Bible from the Church

The worship team that I participate in

The kids in the afternoon broke a pinata in honor of Marc's Birthday that was the 23rd.

Every piece of candy is precious!

Some of our toddlers having fun! My little nephew Josias is in the middle.

This is a family that are our neighbors. I was very happy to see them and have them hear my testimony.

Sibling picture time!!!

Love this one! My siblings say I look like a mermaid in it. What do you think?

Hope y'all enjoyed this post! (Marc insisted I post this picture, so here it is)
Thanks for reading and I would appreciate prayers that I would continue to grow in my faith and be faithful until the end!
I will be posting more about our family vacation shortly so stay tuned!

Bees, Hives and Impromptu Homeschooling

Sunday afternoon we had a three hour drive to get home from a weekend with friends. We stopped on the way to buy a rabbit for Wesley's "business." (hard to have baby bunnies without a male and a female) The farmer was just about to "catch" a swarm of wild bees as we got there. I wanted to get right back in the car, but Philip wanted to see the "catch!" (and people think I am the curious one of the family!!!) I reluctantly followed the procession - two farmers carrying stepladders, Philip, and the kids - to the "bee tree." The bee tree was just an apple tree. The bees had stopped to rest on some of its branches on their search for the perfect home.
The beekeeper, Michel, had everything he needed, and had obviously caught a few swarms of bees before. The only thing he didn't have was protective gear. Said he didn't need it, and didn't mind being stung now and then. He thinks bees can feel or smell fear and that causes them to sting. (he did get stung a few times but mostly because the bees got caught under his clothes)
The bees were on three different branches so Michel had some work to do to get all (well, ok, most) of the bees into his temporary hive. Amazingly, once the queen bee was in Michel's hive, they played follow the leader and couldn't get in fast enough!
So thanks to my curious husband, the kids got a great lesson about bees!!!

The first bees aren't sure what to do.

Michel was pretty sure the queen was in the last swarm.

Michel couldn't get the whole branch so he knocked the swarm into a bucket. (He made us all back up before he did that though)

And now that the queen is with them, the bees are all headed for the hive.

Flowers and Bugs!

By Laura

Hi there!
I know posts on this blog are too few, and you probably wish this weren't yet another of "Laura's flower posts"... But don't worry, this isn't ONLY a flower post! There are a few bugs in it as well! :-)

Oh, okay, sure there are some flowers... but aren't they brilliant?

See?!? I wouldn't lie, Bugs! And beautiful ones at that. ;-)

I don't know about you, but I love admiring God's creation!
He thought of everything from the galaxies to tiny little details like bugs.
Next post will be an update, I promise!

Me again ! The next part of our vacation that I'm going to share with you is our outings to the beach in August. (This activity was also done with the same cousins as before.)

Fun, games, swimming, great company, beautiful weather, sunshine, soft breezes, the sound of waves kissing the shore, and the sun, setting in a way that makes it look like it's consumed and dispersed in an explosion of oranges into the sea... (sigh) :-)

Smooth sailing.

Getting a little too crowded!

Heeeelp!

The troops!

Can you guess whose is whose?

From left to right: Alicia (cousin), me (Laura), Johanna (cousin) and Nathalie

The next pictures are of our second outing to the beach. An even more beautiful, hot and sunny day !

Our "camp" site.

I love doing this.

Look at these poor lost sailors looking for an oasis !
William:"Is sticking my face in the sand really a good idea?"

Love this picture of Marc!

And there are our shipwrecked sailors!

We decided to bury Wesley. (But he refused to play dead...)

Cousin fun ! Look closely, the thirsty sailors found an Oasis !!!

Did I describe this sunset well enough? :-)

Hope you enjoyed this post !
Stay tuned for more ! ;-)

Hi There ! I've been called upon once again to write on the glorious Kapi Empire's blog, the Empress being too busy to do it herself. What an honor! (But seeing that the last post is from spring, maybe she really needs me.) ;-)

So, to start the wonderful telling of our Kapi summer vacation, I will tell you about the two weeks we spent at a campground, with some of our cousins, in the beautiful region of "Vendée!" The campground is operated mainly for British Christians even though it's in France. So our days where packed with activities, worship services and much more, all in English!

One of the possible activities: Ping-pong !
(Will and Wes and Marc)

But I think most of us preferred the pool ;-) especially our cousin Mélina!

Will: "Whoa" !!!

Marc: "Kamikaze"!

Nathalie: "I think I'll go the ballet way"

With the camp directors wife: Monique (in the middle)

Beach outing!

Melina: "I found something!"

Nathalie: "Weird..." / Marc: "Do you think we can eat it? — I'm HUNGRY!!"

Reading Manga Bible every evening with our great Dad/Uncle!

Delicious BBQs all the time!!!

Board games! (but I don't think they were too bored.) :-)

Kapifamily size sandwiches!

One of the evening services. (we're in the row right behind the big guy in red.)

OUTING TO THE PORT TOWN OF PORNIC
Luckily some of the troops are missing, it's getting squishy!
(We took this picture just for you, Michel!)

Majestic boats!

The outing team.

Looks like their feet are more interesting than the sailboat!

What a beautiful girl!

Mom, Nathalie and Aunt Esther!

I joined the family for the second week!  I missed the first week of camping as I was in Germany trying to improve my German.
More food! Good food is important in our family.

Our dining room: 12 of us around this table for breakfast, lunch and supper, every day!!

Sorry, but that's it! Stay tuned for much more is to come, I hope. ;-)
